As part of the project to preserve the cultural heritage of Odesa, implemented with the support of UNESCO, the historic buildings, which house the Branch of the Hellenic Foundation for Culture and the Museum of “Filiki Etairia”, were marked with the “Blue Shield”. The international distinctive mark “Blue Shield” is used worldwide to identify cultural heritage sites. Its form is defined by the Hague Convention of 1954 for the Protection of Cultural Property in the Event of Armed Conflict. This sign signals that the property on which it is located is a historic monument and is not used for military purposes, so it cannot be the object of armed aggression.
