The large collection of books and audio-visual materials for children contains CDs of popular, traditional and modern Greek music, audiotapes and videotapes with entertaining and educational contents.
The library collection is being constantly replenished with new items to meet preferences of our readers composed primarily of university and college students. There are quite a few older readers as well as schoolchildren who learn Greek language in their schools.
The library of the Branch collaborates with libraries from Odessa and other cities of Ukraine, organizes thematic exhibitions and participates in book exhibits in other cities where it presents publications by the Foundation.
The library also functions as the information center, which provides access to printed and on-line resources about Greece. The library collection is managed through ABEKT automation system for library administration from the Greek National Documentation Center, which includes registering, cataloguing, classifying and compiling a thematic handbook of the available materials. Cataloguing is done via ΑΑCR2 (AngloAmericanCataloguingRules) and classification is conducted with the support of DeweyDecimalClassification adapted to the needs of the library collection. The on-line catalogue is accessible to every person interested in exploring the library. The library lends books to subscribers and all readers are provided with a possibility of making photocopies. There is a reading-room open to everyone. The information requested from the library is provided verbally, by phone, by fax and via e-mail.
