Branch of the HFC in Odesa
The Branch of the Hellenic Foundation for Culture was established in Odesa in September 1994 by the decision of the Administrative Board of the Foundation made on the basis of the permit from the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine (registration No. 27 dated April 8th, 1994). The Branch is housed in three adjacent historic buildings rented at a symbolic price from the Municipal Council of Odesa, in one of which formerly belonged to Grigoriy Marazli there resided Greeks and gathered members of the Filiki Eteria Society.
- ORGANISES exhibitions, concerts, theatrical performances, screenings, lectures, and seminars, scientific conferences in co-operation with cultural and educational institutions.
- PARTICIPATES in cultural events, anniversary celebrations, theatrical festivals, as well as cinema, and music weeks.
- PROMOTES the Greek language by offering courses, providing material and relevant information to other agencies and organising seminars.
- DISSEMINATES Greek books by presenting literary figures, providing support for translations, participating in international book fairs, etc.
- SPOTLIGHTS Greek cinema through regular screenings, film festivals and tributes in co-operation with the Greek Film Centre.
- PUBLISHES books and catalogues, in association with its activities and events.
- UNDERTAKES educational initiatives at schools and Universities in Ukraine, in co-operation with local authorities.
Closely working with organizations and individuals in various areas of knowledge and culture, the Branch regularly renders support to a number of educational, scientific, publications, and other programs, and promotes the establishment of direct contact and cultural exchange between the Ukraine and Greece.
Director of the Branch is Mr. Sofronios Paradisopoulos.

Administrative Board of the Branch
In order to assist the Branch in conducting its multiple activities, the Administrative Board of the Foundation established the Administrative Board of the Branch, which makes propositions concerning the activities of the Branch, contributes to obtaining additional funds, assists in maintaining the facilities and equipment and replenishing the educational materials and participates in making solutions as to other issues related to the activities of the Branch.
HELLENIC FOUNDATION FOR CULTURE
The objective of the Hellenic Foundation for Culture is to promote Greek culture and disseminate the Greek language throughout the world. Since its foundation in 1992, the Hellenic Foundation for Culture has created Branches in Odesa, Alexandria and Berlin, and there are Hellenic Houses of Culture in Trieste, Belgrade, Bucharest and Sofia.
