On December 11th 2014 at 16:00 the Branch of the Hellenic Foundation for Culture will host a lecture by Prof. Vasiliy Popkov from Odessa National I.I. Mechnikov University entitled “The problem of man as a global issue of our time”.

Based on an analysis of the socio-philosophical tradition spanning a time period from Classical Antiquity to modern times, the lecturer will address an issue of man as both a problem of global development and, at the same time, an agent of deep social transformations. Opinions of different philosophers concerning perspectives of the world’s civilization in relation to the “human factor” will also be discussed. The lecture is intended for audience interested in humanitarian issues.
