On August 27-29, 2016 the group of traditional Greek dancers from the Branch of the HFC will participate in the Fourth Traditional Dance Festival on the Island of Skopelos.

The festival in memoriam of Diamantis Paleologos, a renowned teacher of traditional dances, is organized by “Plegma”, a non-profit organization that promotes culture across Europe and Greece. It will be held under the auspices of the Hellenic National Committee for UNESCO and the Municipality of Skopelos with the financial support from local charitable and civic society organizations.

The organizers and volunteers of the festival pursue the goal of establishing an open celebrative event that brings together dancers and dancing groups from all over the world and develops the island of Skopelos into the center of the folk culture and traditions. In addition to dances, the guests of the festival will have an opportunity to familiarize themselves with national traditions and folklore as well as attend master classes, lectures and workshops.
