Round Table “Antiquity: people and finds”

On the International Museum Day May 18, 2017 at the Branch of the Hellenic Foundation for Culture the Archaeological Museum of Odessa will host a round table “Antiquity: people and finds” dedicated to the 80th Birthday of Natalia Sekerskaya and 60 years of archaeological research at Nikonion.

Natalia Sekerskaya holds PhD in history and is a senior researcher at the Archaeological Museum of Odessa of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, where she has been working since 1961 after graduating from the Department of History at the State University of Odessa. Her archaeological research focuses on excavations of the ancient Nikonion.

Nikonion is an ancient Greek site located on the eastern shore of the Dniester Estuary in the present-day village of Roksolany (District of Ovidiopol, Odessa Region). Excavations have been conducted at Nikonion since 1957.

 

The museum invites everyone interested in ancient history and archaeological research in the Region of Odessa to attend the round table.
