A walking tour “Here, in Odessa, he lived, worked and created…”

October 11, 2021 (Monday), Mrs. Olena Diakova from the Regional Council for Peace will guide a walking tour “Here, in Odessa, he lived, worked and created…”dedicated to the memory of Kiriak Kostandi (15.10.1852-31.10.1921) a Greek native, artist, academician of painting and teacher.

The guide will tell about K. Kostandi and his work in Odessa, take the visitors to historic sites and buildings associated with the artist, and present the exhibitions held in memory of the renowned painter, including:

  • exhibition of works of students of the Children’s Art School №1, which was named after K.K. Kostandi 30 years ago;
  • exhibition of works of students of the Grekov Art School, in which Kostandi, worked from 1882 until his death;
  • visit to the monument to K. Kostandi in the courtyard of the building No. 46 in Pastera Street where the artist lived.
  • visit the Museum of Arts in Sofiivska Street (the former Museum of Fine Arts, in which Kostandi was appointed director in 1916) to see the exhibition of the artist’s works “100 years later. Kiriak Kostandi” (curated by Tetiana Tokarchuk).
