The Branch of the Hellenic Foundation for Culture in cooperation with the different Ukrainian organizations during the year 2013 will organize the series of events dedicated to the life and work of the great poet.
The first event will be held on March in the Ivan Franko Library.

Literary portrait: “K. Kavafis – familiar stranger”
The program includes the speech of the associate professor of the Department of World Literature of the Odessa National University, Fokina Svetlana; library staff; guests; video composition about the life of the poet; poetry readings; an exhibition of the poet’s works; the music of Greek composers, performed by the students.

Within the framework of the Days of Greek Culture, organized in the Odessagymnasium № 1 and dedicated to the March 25 – National Holiday of Greece, theexhibition of Kavafis’ works in Greek and Russian from the collection of the HFC library will be presented. Also the pupils of the gymnasium will read the poems in two languages during the Closing Ceremony.
