The Odessa Philharmonic Orchestra (artistic director and principal conductor, Honored Artist of Ukraine Hobart Earle) with the participation of the Odessa Branch of the Hellenic Foundation for Culture presents the Concert in the Odessa State Philharmonic on 11 October, 2013 at 19:00.

Myron Michailidis is regarded today as one of the most important Greek conductors of his generation. His vivid conducting style is characterized by conviction and authority coupled by outstanding dynamic control and variety of expression.  Since 2011 he has been serving as Artistic Director of The Greek National Opera (GNO), following his former position as General Artistic Director and Principal Conductor of The Thessaloniki National Orchestra (TSSO), a post held since 2004. Between 1999 until 2004, Maestro Michailidis was Permanent Conductor at the Opera of Eastern Saxony in Germany.
Born in 1968 in Crete, Maestro Michailidis studied piano in Athens with Dimitris Toufexis and conducting at the Music Academy in Berlin with Hans-Martin Rabenstein, Miltiadis Karydis and Simon Rattle. He also holds a law degree from the Athens University.
His diverse repertoire ranges from classical to contemporary, and his conducting credits span the symphonic and operatic and choral worlds. In addition to the core symphonic and operatic composers, he is a great proponent of the music of Beethoven, Tchaikovsky and Rachmaninoff with recordings of international acclaim, whereas in the operatic field, his interpretations of composers such as Verdi, Gounod, Puccini, are particularly noteworthy, resulting in collaborations with the finest stage directors and set designers of the world.
Maestro Michailidis is also a prolific recording artist. He has recorded for EMI Classics and repeatedly for Naxos, as well as for numerous Greek labels and the Greek Radio. In 2009 Maestro Michailidis received the prestigious Honorable Award from the Greek Critics Association for Music and Theater.

Yannis Costantinidis, also known by the penname Kostas Giannidis (21 August 1903 – 17 January 1984) was a Greek composer, pianist and conductor.
Giannidis was born in Smyrna in 1903. He came to Greece after the destruction of Smyrna and continued his studies in Berlin (1923–1931).
He returned to Athens and worked as a conductor and composer at the musical theatre composing many operettas, musical comedies and revues.
Yannis Costantinidis died in Athens.
He wrote symphonic, chamber music, compositions for piano and many popular songs.

Nestor Taylor (1963) studied the high theory at the Conservatory of Athens and the composition at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama (LGSM, CAMS) and also at the Royal Holloway University in London (M. Mus, M. Phil) with John Woolridge and Peter Wiegold, where he was awarded the scholarship for his unique success. He is the owner of the Conducting diploma by the London College of Music.
Many of his works were presented in the most prestigious Concert Halls of Greece (The Athens Palace of Music, National Opera House, Museum “Benaki”, etc.) and abroad (Kioi Hall in Tokyo, Opera House in Lubek, Philharmonic Hall in Odessa, Museum “Revoltella” in Trieste). The works were released by Lyra and Puzzlemusik companies.
Nestor Taylor is the art collaborator of National Opera House, the teacher of the high theory and the composition at the Greek conservatory and at the municipal conservatory of Amarousi city, as well as at the state school of conducting art. He is the permanent member of the Association of Composers of Greece since 1995, the holder of the scholarship of Fulbright Foundation from the Yale University as the composer-in-residence during 2005-06 academic years, the author of the books “The Harmony of Pythagoreans” (publ. Nefely) and “The Technique of “divisi” at strings” (publ. Orpheus).

Georgiy Kozhukhar graduated the Stolyarsky School in piano (2000), the Odessa national A. V. Nezhdanova academy of music in special piano (2005) and postgraduate study in performance (2008). He gained the honorable diploma in the II International Piano competition in memory of Emil Gilels (2003) and bronze in the III International Piano competition in memory of Emil Gilels (2006).
He played with the Odessa Philharmonic Orchestra in 2007 and 2011.
