Exhibition “Your canvases will never be forgotten…”


October 26 at 16:00, the Branch of the HFC will host the opening of the exhibition “Your canvases will never be forgotten…” featuring the works by K. K. Kostandi (15.10.1852-31.10.1921) and his contemporaries including A. N. Stilianudi (27.01.1868 -04.12.1948), V.M. Sinitskiy (1896-1986) and V.A. Tsimpakov (1903-1968) from private collections.

The exhibition is dedicated to the 165th anniversary of the birth of Kiriak Kostandi and is held within the framework of the one-year project: “Unknown K. K. Kostandi, his students and followers” (October 2016 – October 2017), initiated by the Branch in collaboration with a number cultural and educational organizations​​and individuals. The results of the project will be summed up on November 16, 2017 at the K. K. Kostandi memorial event at the closing of the exhibition and presentation of the catalog.

The exhibition will feature paintings and graphic works by K. K. Kostandi (including unfinished ones) such as paintings and sketches for paintings, the artist’s personal belongings, the works of his contemporaries including A. N. Stilianudi, V. M. Sinitskiy, V.A. Tsimpakov and his family members including M. Kostandi, L. Kostandi and A. Khrshanovskiy as well as photographs and prints.

The Branch cordially thanks Pavlina Khrshanovskaya, Linda Stoyanova, Sofronis Paradeisopoulos, Panteleimon Bumburas, Lyudmila Yeremina, the Odessa Museum of Fine Arts, the Odessa National Research Library and many others for their active participation in the development of the exhibition.
