Two International competitions: “The best tales of the world” and “Construction of dolls”, are announced by the Academy of Children’s Art in Xanthi (Greece) within the program “Bridges of love”.

The Odessa Branch of the Hellenic Foundation for Culture, at the request of the Academy of Children’s Art in Xanthi (Greece), declares that the Academy has announced two international competitions: “The best tales of the world” and “Construction of dolls”, within the program “Bridges of love”.

1. “The best tales of the world”

Conditions of participation:
Children and teenagers between 10-20 years old can take part.
The tale must be very clearly written in two languages:

– in your own language;
– translated and written in English.

In the case of group entries, please write the name of the leader, the names of the participants, and explain each person’s capacity.

The following prizes will be awarded:

The best tale in the world, illustrated and written with the best message, will be awarded a special prize in the amount of 1.000?

1st prize: a gold pen.
2nd prize: a silver pen.

Plaques will be awarded to:
– The tale with the best message;
– My tale;
– The best illustrated tale;
– The best avant-garde tale;
– The best modern tale;
– The best tale of grandmother or grandfather.

The works will not be returned. They will belong to the Academy of children’s Art, which will present, print, and publish part of this collection.

The works should be sent to the address of the Academy by 30 July 2009.

2. “Construction of dolls”

Conditions of participation:
Children and teenagers between 10-18 years old can take part.
Dimensions of dolls: from 30 cm to 150 cm.
Materials: cloth, yarns, wool, cotton, straw, papyrus, wood, paper, metals, string etc. (no fragile materials).
Bio-mechanical dolls are not accepted.
You should write the name of the leader of your group and the names of the participants.
Hang a sign around on the doll’s neck indicating your identity and write down the relationship that it has to your life.

The following prizes will be awarded:
– Special money prize – 1.000 €- for the best doll in the world;
– First prize: a gold olive-tree wreath;
– Second prize a silver olive-tree wreath.
Plaques will be awarded:
– For the best doll of the past;
– For the best doll of the present;
– For the best doll of the future;
– For the most elaborate doll;
– For the most avant-garde doll;
– For the most beautiful traditional doll;
– For the most beautiful doll of my grandmother.
The works should be sent to the address of the Academy by 30 June 2009.
