With the support from the Hellenic Foundation for Culture (Athens, Greece) and in collaboration with managers of International Programs of the festival, at this forum the Branch of the HFC will be presenting a project “New Voices of Greece”.
Is there anything new and interesting is happening nowadays in Greece?
This issue has been frequently discussed in public debates and drawing attention of the international book market. It is this question that prompted the Branch of the HFC to take part in the Book Arsenal 2016 in order to make a presentation of, first of all, modern authors writing about the present-day Greece, the experience of hard social reality through which the country is going because of the economic crisis.
In order to establish a dialogue between visitors to the exhibition at the international level, the Greek Stand of some 20 sq.m in area will feature works of 20 new talented writers who appeared from the Second Festival of Young Writers (Greece, 2015) as well as works by winners of the 2014 National Book Awards, translations of Greek books from the last two years, new Greek publications (literature, poetry, books for children and youth, gift editions and illustrated volumes), publications by the HFC in foreign languages, museum catalogues and the like. The HFC has prepared three English-language catalogues, in which authors of all these nominations are represented.
The exhibition will present works of the following authors:
Christos Armandos Gezos, Eleuteria Kiritsi, Thomas Tsalapatis, Yakovos Anifandakis, Maria Phili, Ursula Foskolou, Fanos Gogos, Dimitra Kotoula, Lukas Liakos, Konstantinos Melissas, Vasilia Oikonomou, Kleomenis Papaioannou, Marilena Papaioannou, Akis Papandonis, George Paulopoulos, Petros Skythiotis, Dimitris Stenos, Sergios Tsakiris, Demetrios Xideros and Aristi Zaimi.
