The jury examined 958 artworks submitted for the contest from various regions, towns and villages of Ukraine.

The majority of works came from southern regions (Odessa, Mykolaiv, Kherson) followed by the regions of Kharkiv (Kharkiv, Chuguiv, Izium), Donetsk (Kramatorsk, Slaviansk, Krasna Poliana), Dnipropetrovsk, Lviv, Zaporizhzhia, Cherkasy, Sumy and Ternopil. The participants in the contest were also asked to answer the question of why a character they chose for their works is their favorite hero.  It turned out that the majority of the children chose Heracles because he “was strong, fearless, smart and invincible, fighting for justice, and his labors inspire for overcoming difficulties”. The children wrote that they like Greece and its myths, and the jury learned that the children preferred to depict mostly legendary heroes and gods. Many young artists are between 11 and 16 years of age. The works show the brave and wise Odysseus, heroes of the battle at Thermopiles, Spartans, heroes of the Trojan War, famous historic figures from the period of Antiquity till the present.

For the exhibition of the best works, the jury selected 58 pieces. The exhibition will stay open at the Branch of the HFC until summer. Authors of all selected works will receive letters of gratitude.
